YQG In Bloom started as a passion project for me in November, 2022. But my love of local businesses started long before.Starting a photography business with my husband in the heart of Walkerville in 2016 (Clear Rock Studios), I began to notice the variety of small businesses that seemed to have popped up in that area. It peaked my love for our community and the businesses in it.During the pandemic I saw so many people become reaquainted with their lost hobbies/passions. The seeds were planted for businesses to be created while we waited for things to normalize. The amount of talent & creativity in the Windsor/Essex County area is immense. The markets, events and Open Streets in Windsor and Essex County are huge now. Every weekend there are at least two that house not only produce but also various booths with small businesses or restaurant vendors. With the increase in these events, it seems the sense of community has grown and we are all trying our best to support these ventures by either purchasing from them, sharing them on social media or hosting podcasts/YouTube channels to get the word out.I decided to start this podcast/YouTube channel to highlight the wonderful businesses, charities or wonderful people that have come onto the scene the last few years. A lot of these businesses are either side hustles or new and I want to get the word out to everyone to help boost them and solidify them in our community.
